One of UTM young researchers, PM Ir Dr Sharifah Rafidah Wan Alwi, successfully secured the SUPERB commercialization grant with a value of RM500,000. Previously in 2015, Dr Siti Hamidah Setapar was the first recipient in UTM of such grant with the same value.
The Skim Permulaan Usahawan Bumiputera (SUPERB) offers grant up to RM500,000 to support innovative and creative business ideas. It aims to assist start-ups with an allocation of RM100 mil in 3 years. A total of RM30mil was allocated for 2014 and 2015. The program is opened for Bumiputera who wish to become entrepreneur or any Bumiputera company that has been operating for less than 3 years.
