ICLCA’18 addresses the various challenges outlined under the United Nation’s SustainablDevelopmentnt Goals (SDGs). Among the key sectors include urban planning and smart city, transportation, energy, waste management, land use and other topics relevant to sustainable development. 

The event, to be officiated by Johor Menteri Besar, is expected to welcome more than 200 participants with about 30-40% of international participation. About 120 presentations including 8 Plenary Lectures, 7 City Mayors’ sharing on low-carbon initiatives and 105 papers will be delivered by delegates from Brazil, China, Czech Republic, Japan, Indonesia, The Philipines, Korea, Malaysia, Nigeria, Slovenia, Thailand,  The Netherlands and Vietnam. 

ICLCA’18 also hosts the joint event of LCSR/ LoCARNet Interim Progress Meeting.  A series of pre-conference events including the  Elsevier Publisher and Editors Workshop, LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) Workshop and the Joint Meeting for ProSPER.Net (The 12th General Assembly and 18th Board Meeting) are held in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Johor Campus a day before ICLCA’18.

Come and meet the exhibitors comprising of the Malaysian local authorities (Johor Bahru, IRDA, Iskandar Puteri, Kulai, Pasir Gudang, Putrajaya), and the international agencies (ProSPER.NET, APAIE’19) to discuss on the joint green initiatives

ICLCA’18 is hosted by Johor Bahru City Council and UTM, and co-hosted by Iskandar Malaysia Regional Authority (IRDA), LoCARNet, Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), and National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES)  from Japan. Johor Bahru City Mayor and UTM Vice Chancellor will present the welcoming speeches. Johor Bahru City Council will also launch the revised version of Johor Bahru Low Carbon Society Action Plan 2025.
