Wildlife in UTM campus
Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Skudai campus is a green campus with rich bio-diversity ecosystem. This campus has attracted and shared as a home to a variety of animals and wildlife including migrating birds, wild cats, wild monkeys and wild boars where sightings are not uncommon.
These are some tips which can help the green campus and interaction between human and these animals:If you see dangerous animals on the campus, contact UTM Security and your residential officials immediately.

Always remember to :
- Limit human-wild animal interactions
- Dispose garbage at the designated places properly.
- Secure food residues and smelly waste in a contained bag.
- Do not feed wild animals, especially wild monkeys. Unprofessional feeding will increase unwanted interactions and encourage animals aggressive behaviours.
- Walk or jog with friends or group on campus trails.
- Do not approach wild animals and keep your distance as much as possible between you and the animals.
When you encounter dangerous or wild animals:
- Remain calm. Inform the UTM Security immediately.
- Keep together in a group. Ensure to guide and take care of small children if they are around.
- Move away from the animals. Do not go near and don’t take unnecessary photos.
- If you are attacked or witness any attack by animals, contact UTM Security and UTM Health Centre immediately.
