Brief Biodata
Prof. Dr. Md. Rahim Bin Sahar
He has obtained a basic degree in Physics from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and Ph.D.from the University of Warwick, Coventry, UK in Glass Ceramic. He has served for almost more than 30 years in UTM, holding various administrative posts in the faculty level and currently is the Head of Advanced Optical Material Research Group. In term of publication, 8 original reference academic books and 3 Book Chapters had been published while more than 170 indexing papers in nationals and international journals including more than 70 in the proceedings. He has also been an invited speaker, keynote speaker and plenary speaker in various academics forums. Current research interest is on nanotechnology using nanometallic particles and plasmonic effect to enhance the capability of new lasing glassy materials. A research collaboration with Asean Physics Group from University of Semarang, Indonesia, University UNSOED, Indonesia, Academic of Science Vietnam and A Solid State Group from University of Lahore, Pakistan has long been established.
