Prof. Dr. Wang Ruzhu

Ruzhu WANG (R. Z. Wang), born in Dec.1964, graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) in 1984, 1987 and 1990 for his bachelor, master and PhD degrees. He was promoted as associate professor in 1992, full professor in 1994 at SJTU.

He has written 12 Books and about 700 co-authored international journal papers and more than 150 patents, his ISI h index is 76 with a citation over 25,000. He is a leading scientist in heat pumps, CCHPs, solar heating and cooling, and green building energy systems. He has won Chinese National Research Awards in 2010 and 2014 respectively. Prof. Wang received the J & E Hall International Gold Medal from the Institute of Refrigeration (UK) in 2013, Asia Refrigeration Academic Award in 2017, the Nukiyama Memorial Award from the Japanese Society of Heat Transfer in 2018, the IIR-Gustav Lorentzen Medal from the International Institute of Refrigeration in 2019, the Peter Ritter von Rittinger International Heat Pump Award from the International Energy Agency (IEA) in 2021, the Georg Alefeld Memorial Award (ISHPC’ 2021). He was honored to be the Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher in 2017 and 2018 respectively.

He had been appointed as the director of Institute of Refrigeration and Cryogenics of SJTU since 1993. Currently he is also the Director- Engineering Research Center of Solar Energy, MOE China, Vice dean of SJTU Energy Institute. His research group has awarded as Excellent Innovative Team of Energy Research from MOST China in 2014 and NSFC in 2015.

Prof. Wang is currently the Deputy editor-in-chief of Energy, Regional editor-International Journal of Refrigeration.

Prof. Dr. Oh Jong-Taek

Prof Jong-Taek Oh obtained his Ph.D. in 1992 from the Department of Refrigeration Engineering, Pukyong National University, Korea. He did his post-doctoral from 1994 to 1995 at the University of Tokyo, Japan. He was twice a visiting scholar at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champagne, USA, for the period of 2004-2006, and 2014-2015.

He has written 119 journal papers (international and domestic) and over 300 conference papers. He was awarded the Best Award in R & D by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Korea in1999. In 2011 he was given the Certificate of Commendation of the Prime Minister, by the Korean government, in Heating, Air-Conditioning, Refrigeration and Fluid Industry in Korea. At the 2016 Annual Winter conference of SAREK, he was given the Asian Academy Award (AAA).

Prof Jong-Taek Oh is currently a professor at the Dept. of Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineering, Chonnam National University, Korea. His professional activities include;

  • D1(Refrigerated Storage) Committee Member(2003-present) and Vice president (2012-present), IIR (International Institute of Refrigeration)
  • President (2017), Thermal Engineering Division, Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers (KSME)
  • Vice president (2017), Society of Air-Conditioning and Refrigerating Engineers of Korea (SAREK)

He is involved in the research areas of Evaporation and Condensation Heat Transfer with Phase Change using Natural and alternative Refrigerants, Heat Pump Systems Using Unused Energy. Mini and Micro Channel Heat Exchanger, and Refrigeration Storage and Transportation of Food

Prof. Dr. Patrice Estellé

He received his PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2004 from INSA Rennes, France and is currently attached to the LGCGM at Université Rennes 1, France. He has published more than 150 research and conference papers, including 88 articles in scientific international journals with h-index of 29. He was the head of “Materials and Thermo-Rheology” team, LGCGM, Université Rennes 1 between 2013 and 2018. He was Visiting Professor Fellowship at Future Lab, Department of Mechanical Engineering, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, Bangkok, Thailand in 2018. He obtained a 4-year National Research Fellowship in 2010, 2014 and 2018 respectively.

His research interests currently include nanofluids thermophysical properties and nanofluids heat and mass transfer, and flow properties of soft matter and suspensions. He was a Core and Management committee member, STSM coordinator of European COST action “Overcoming Barriers to Nanofluids Market Uptake”, 2016-2020. He is also involved as a board member in the CIG 15119 European project: Nanofluids for convective heat transfer devices NANOConVEX.

Prof Dr Patrice Estellé is an Associate Editor of Journal of Calorimetry and Thermal Analysis as well as being a Guest Editor and board member of several international journals. And he served as Scientific Committee member of several International Conferences and acted as expert evaluator for different institutions.
