Prof. Dr. Zuhaimy Bin Ismail

” Zuhaimy Ismail is a Professor in Statistics and Operational Research at the Department of Mathematical Science, Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) with more than 35 years of experience in managing teaching and supervision of students, research, consultancy work, workshops, seminars and advisory services within and outside the university.  He led various research groups and has successfully generated highly motivating teams in establishing linkages between the government and the private commercial establishments to secure research and consultation grants.    He has succeeded in leading more than 20 research projects at the national level (SciFund grant, FRGS, and UTMFund), and the international level (British Council Grant) where he received awards from Loughborough University, UK as Visiting Researcher at LUB, England.   He has successfully supervised students at Ph.D., Masters, and undergraduate level and recognized as an external examiner of doctoral and master’s thesis at national and international levels. Zuhaimy Ismail has published more than one hundred articles in indexed journals (ISI and Scopus), and popular publication and has also published books on Statistics and Mathematics, on the restoration of gold dinar and other general reading articles.  His awareness of weakness in mathematics among Malay students has led him to set up K3PM group, a volunteer group to educate students to excel in mathematics and other community services in organizations such as MAPIM, KPMNJ and PIBGS.  He has also been recognized by the Ministry of Science with his appointment as a SciFund and FRGS project evaluator, Program Appraisal Panel at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, UiTM Shah Alam and Universiti Sains Malaysia.  He has widely participated at national and international seminars as keynote and invited speakers and as an external appraiser of Ph.D. / MSc theses, and Staff Academic Promotion for students. “
