We are now accepting papers, which shall be published Open Access without imposing any type of article processing charge (APC) or any type of article submission charge. INTREST aims to be an active platform, facilitating scientific exchange and knowledge transfer on the subject of real estate and built environment.
 
Devoted to the publication of peer reviewed original high-quality research papers and review papers in both traditional topics and those of emerging science and technology, INTREST welcomes papers on selected key topics include, but are not limited to:
 
  • Real Estate (such as REITs, corporate real estate, property valuation and appraisal, asset and property management, facilities management, spatial planning, workplace and public space, property taxation and real estate law, life cycle assessment etc)
  • Construction (such as project management, BIM, PPP, safety and health in construction, cost and quality control, contract administration, quantity surveying, disaster resilience, procurement and supply chain, engineering and architectural management, construction innovation etc)
  • Building (such as building adaptation and retrofit, energy efficiency, thermal performance, maintenance management, building design and technology, smart building, carbon emission, waste management, green building, indoor environment etc)
  • Town Planning (such as urbanisation, GIS, sustainable built environment, regional policy, urban regeneration, city development, neighbourhood liveability, urban governance and infrastructure, urban adaptation to climate change, gentrification and housing etc)
  • Land Administration (such as land management, land use policy, property development, housing affordability, homeownership, housing price, cadastral surveying, environmental conservation, housing geography, flood and rural management etc)
 
Areas of both theoretical and fundamental interest as well as those concerning industrial applications, emerging instrumental techniques and those which evolve around novel trending subjects in parallel with current digital technologies and IR 4.0 such as blockchain, internet-of-things (IoT), artificial intelligence and big data application will be highly considered and encouraged.
 
INTREST is currently a non-indexed journal with publishing frequency twice a year (June and December issues respectively). The journal aspires to be indexed by SCOPUS in the next 3 to 5 years and by SSCI within the next 10 years. Hence, prospective authors may anticipate critical and comprehensive reviews, produced by renowned and experienced referees.
 
We look forward to receiving your submissions soon. Authors interested in submitting manuscripts for the June 2021 Issue may consider 15 March 2021 as the deadline. Otherwise, authors may opt to send the manuscript before 30 June 2021 for opportunity to publish in the December 2021 Issue. You can forward the manuscript to this email, or upload it in the Google Forms application through our official website –  https://builtsurvey.utm.my/intrest/.
