International Invitation Program (IIP)

WHAT IS INTERNATIONAL INVITATION PROGRAM?
IIP is a program which allows students to participate in a program offered by institution/ organization/ society with the theme as follow:

  1. Academic Program: Seminar, Conference, Paper presentation, student project competition
  2. Cultural: Cultural Exhibition and conference, historical and cultural tour
  3. Student Development Activity: Courses, workshops
Application Requirement & Eligibility
  1. Registered as an active student at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM)
  2. Must complete a semester study in UTM and must NOT in the last semester study in UTM
  3. Have a great point average of 3.0 or higher
  4. Have a good command of the English Language
  5. Have good health condition
  6. Be physically present in UTM at the time of application
  7. Must agree to enroll at the host institution as described in the program plan
  8. Must agree to abide by the rules and regulations of the host institution or placement provider.
  9. Should demonstrate empathy and understanding of cultural difference
  10. Should demonstrate excellent personal skills.
  11. Agrees to be responsible for the costs incurred.  The students may seek other sources of sponsors including that provided by UTM to subsidize some expenses including travel, accommodation, and insurance expenses
  12. UTM Fund is only provided for MALAYSIAN
Application Process
Application for Program with Funding
*THIS APPLICATION FORM IS REQUIRED AS BELOW CONDITIONS:

  1. TO THOSE WHO APPLY FOR ANY PROGRAM WHICH IS PROMOTED BY UTM INTERNATIONAL
  2. TO THOSE WHO APPLY TO ANY PROGRAM WHICH IS NOT PROMOTED BY UTM INTERNATIONAL AND INTENT TO APPLY FOR UTM FUND (BASED ON  AVAILABILITY). ACCEPTANCE LETTER/ INVITATION FROM HOST IS REQUIRED FOR THIS PURPOSES.
  • Fill in the Short-term Application Form
  • Submit the form along with the supporting documents to UTM International before the deadline.
Application for Program without Funding

*THIS APPLICATION FORM IS REQUIRED AS BELOW CONDITION:

  1. TO THOSE WHO APPLY TO ANY PROGRAM WHICH IS NOT PROMOTED BY UTM INTERNATIONAL AND NOT REQUESTING FOR UTM FUND OR THE PROGRAM HAS BEEN FUNDED BY EXTERNAL SPONSORSHIP . ACCEPTANCE LETTER/ INVITATION FROM HOST IS REQUIRED FOR THIS PURPOSES.

Financial Support

We regret to inform that, there will be no funding given for International Invitation Program (IIP)(Effective on 1st January 2019)

Note :

  1. Allocation provided based on availability upon application
  2. UTM fund is ONLY provided for Malaysian
*Student (local/ international student) is COMPULSORY to apply for program approval from university through UTM International and going abroad approval from Student Affairs Office for any participation in International program in overseas
**There will be no fund for program which is fully sponsored by host program/ sponsored by host university/ institutions/ sponsored by any research grant which supports mobility program/ sponsored by any funding from other institutions before program approval
*** This funding is only entitled to the local student. The International Student who join any type of mobility program either by own expenses/ sponsored by other institution is COMPULSORY to apply for university`s approval letter to join the international program via UTM International.

 Important Notes
  • Discuss with students’ academic advisor/deputy dean (academic)/dean of the faculty regarding participation in the program
  • Inform parents /guardian about participation in IIP
  • Students are responsible for all matters involved in this program ( e.g : registration and purchase of air tickets, visa etc.).
