Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar.

Let us first begin by expressing our utmost gratitude to Allah S.W.T for His mercy and grace, we will soon celebrate the coming Eid ul-Fitr for this year. Together we pray that we can appreciate 1st Syawal 1438H, this day of victory, faith, taqwa and thanksgiving through the supplications of takbir, tahmid and praise for the Almighty Allah for all His bounties.

In conjunction with the arrival of this remarkable day, as part of the UTM community, let this be a platform for us to strengthen our brotherhood, unite and work together in the face of all challenges to bring UTM forward and achieve our aspiration towards universal prosperity.

Alhamdulillah, behind the various trials and tribulations, UTM has achieved significant achievement that we can be proud of, including the recent increase in QS World Ranking 2017/18. I believe it is the outcome of the sincerity, cooperation, determination and sacrifice of each member of the UTM community.

For those travelling back to their hometowns, be mindful of the law and road safety regulations while on the road. Take safety precautionary measures throughout this festive season. Do return safely to campus with renewed spirit to give our best in ensuring the continued excellence of UTM, for both the present and future generations.

Hopefully the ibadah and tarbiyah throughout the month of Ramadhan Al-Mubarak have instilled in us the most desirable traits, and made us better and more positive people. It is my hope that the month of Ramadhan has shaped our lives to continue our istiqamah and worship towards Allah S.W.T.

To celebrate this Eid ul-Fitr, the Prophet S.A.W once said:

“Those who enliven the night of Eid ul-Fitr and Eid ul-Adha with the hope of pleasing Allah, verily will not suffer the demise of the heart on the day that all hearts perish”(Narrated by H.R. Muslim & Ibn Abbas)

In closing, my family and I would like to take this opportunity to seek forgiveness from all staff, students and the entire UTM community for any shortcomings and wrongdoings.

Happy Eid ul-Fitr, Maaf Zahir dan Batin.

“Taqobbalallahu minna wa minkum”
