THERMOGRAVIMETRY ANALYZER INTERFACE WITH FTIR
|1||Location:||Thermal Analysis Laboratory
|2||Details of Instrument:||TA Instruments Thermogravimetric Analyzer - modular TGA Q500 FTIR
The Thermogravimetric Analyzer measures the amount and rate of weight change in a material, either as a function of increasing temperature, or isothermally as a function of time, in a controlled atmosphere. It can be used to characterize any material that exhibits a weight change and to detect phase changes due to decomposition, oxidation, or dehydration. Wide temperature range allow measurements from below room temperature 30°C to 1000 °C.
TGA is working in conjunction with FTIR spectrometer
Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) is a technique which is used to obtain an infrared spectrum of absorption, emission, photoconductivity of a solid, liquid or gas. An FTIR spectrometer simultaneously collects spectral data in a wide spectral range.
