5th April 2011, Kuala Lumpur: Currently one of the Research Universities in Malaysia, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia through its Centres of Excellence (CoE)  thrives on strengthening its industrial collaboration through productive R&D efforts that could benefit the industry as well as the public in general.In conjunction with WATER

MALAYSIA 2011 held at PWTC, Kuala Lumpur and officiated by representative of YB Dato’ Sri Peter Chin Fah Kui, Minister of KeTTHA, UTM together with IWK signed on an R&D collaboration effort for a period of one year. The research collaboration will be conducted and  focusing on 2
main projects. Institute of Bioproduct Development (IBD) and the Institute of Environmental and Water Resources Management (IPASA) will join forces in working on microbial applications and product development for enhancing sewage treatment and another separate project on membrane treatment technologies for water reclamation and reuse.

The Deputy Vice Chancellor of Academic and International Affairs, Prof. Ir. Dr. Azraai Kassim was present on behalf of UTM to sign the document together with Datuk Abdul Kadir Mohd Din the CEO of IWK.
