Assoc. Prof. Dr. Srithar Rajoo

CENTRE DIRECTOR

Dr Rajoo has been an academic in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia for over 10 years, where he has held various positions including Head of the Automotive Laboratory and Head of the Internal Combustion Engine research group. His areas of specialization include engine boosting and downsizing, turbomachinery and waste heat recovery from internal combustion engines.

Professor Martinez-Botas holds the chair of Turbomachinery at Imperial College London where he has worked as an academic for over 20 years. He is also a visiting Professor at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. His areas of specialization include unsteady flows in turbomachinery, with particular application to turbocharger aerodynamics, heat transfer in turbomachinery and waste heat recovery from internal combustion engines.

Dato' Prof. Ir. Alias Mohd Noor

CENTRE ADVISOR

Professor Alias Mohd Noor obtained his PhD in Mechanical Engineering (Turbomachinery) at the University of Bath, United Kingdom, in 1990. He is actively involved in the Turbomachinery Research Group at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, specializing in the areas of turbocharger design (sizing and matching), biodiesel combustion engines, waste heat energy recovery, ceramic coating of radial turbine volute casings for turbocharger applications and heat transfer.

Dr. Peter Newton

UTM RESEARCH FELLOW AT IMPERIAL COLLEGE LONDON

Dr Newton graduated from Imperial College with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2007. He spent 2 years working in the power sector before returning to Imperial College to undertake a PhD in the turbomachinery group, investigating the effect of unsteady flows in a double entry turbocharger turbine. Having completed his PhD in 2013 he is now the UTM research fellow for the Centre for Low Carbon Transport, based at Imperial College London.is content in the module Design settings and even apply custom CSS to this text in the module Advanced settings.

Dr. Alessandro Romagnoli

COLLABORATOR AT NANYANG TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY, SINGAPORE

Dr Alessandro acted as research co-investigator in projects looking at engine downsizing, waste heat recovery, and mild-hybridization of powertrain technology in passenger vehicles as well as in optimization and design of novel turbine concepts. He collaborates extensively with world leading OEMs in powertrain R&D (Jaguar and Land Rover, Lotus, Ford, CAT, MHI, Honda, ABB, etc.)
Dr. Mohd Azman Abas

Dr. Mohd Azman Abas

SENIOR LECTURER

Dr. Mohd Azman Abas is a Senior Lecturer in the aeronautics, automotive and marine department and Researcher for Low Carbon Transport of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). He graduated from University of Hertfordshire in Automotive Engineering in 2004. He then spent 12 years working as a Powertrain Development Engineer with PROTON in engine development before obtaining his PhD in 2016 in the field of drive cycle. His main research interest is in engine testing, drive cycle and energy recovery in IC engine.

Dr. Muhamad Hasbullah Padzillah

Dr. Muhamad Hasbullah Padzillah

SENIOR LECTURER

Muhamad Hasbullah Padzillah is currently a senior lecture in the thermofluids department, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Malaysia. Hasbullah completed his first degree in UTM in 2009. He then received his PhD from Imperial College London in 2014. For his PhD studies, Hasbullah became the youngest recipient of the scholarship awarded by the Ministry of Education, Malaysia. His research interests lie in turbomachines and energy recovery methods.
Dr. Chiong Meng Soon

Dr. Chiong Meng Soon

SENIOR LECTURER

Chiong Meng Soon is currently a senior lecturer at UTM Centre for Low Carbon Transport. He completed his PhD at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in 2015 investigating on the one-dimentional pulse flow turbine modelling, a project which is in close collaboration with the Turbomachinery Group of Imperial College London. Previously, he received his Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2010 also from UTM. His main research interest lies in advanced turbocharger modelling and waste heat energy recovery in IC engine.

Dr. Uday M. Basheer

Dr. Uday M. Basheer

SENIOR LECTURER

Dr. Uday M. Basheer is a Senior Lecturer at the UTM Centre for Low Carbon Transport. He received his PhD in Materials Engineering from the Universiti Sains Malaysia. He obtained his B.S. and M.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Baghdad and the University of Technology Iraq respectively. He has over 25 years of research and practical experience in Materials and Chemical Engineering, especially in the area of ceramics.
