1. What is Erasmus Mundus IDEAS?
The aim of the IDEAS project is to create a partnership in research and education that will strengthen the ties between Europe and Asia, with a special focus on innovation and design.
The project offeres mobility scholarship provided by EU commission to scholars from 5 Asian countries (Malaysia is one of them) at different levels including undergraduates, postgraduates, post-doctoral and staff to study or work in the 7 EU partner universities specified within this project.
2. Who’s eligible to apply?
The scholarships are mainly for Students, Academic and Administrative staff from UTM who are Malaysian Citizen. Students originated from other Asian countries or studying in other higher education institutions in Malaysia might also apply. 3. What is the benefit of joining IDEAS?
The project will provide students with an excellence in scientific and technological domains, based on both theoretical foundations and practical experience with an international perspective, and prepare them to participate in building and managing complex and large systems and infrastructures.
4. How do i apply ?
Application is submitted through the Online Application at the main IDEAS website.
5. How long can students go abroad?
Minimum 10 months for all categories (undergraduate, postgraduate, post-doc) except for the staff category (1-3 months). Please visit the Rate & Duration at the main IDEAS website.
6. What is covered by the grant award?

7. When can i apply?
For the first cycle, the online application for PhD students, post-Doc fellowships and academic and administrative staff will open on October 14, 2011 (for the mobility starting earliest on February 1. While the application for undergraduate and master students by taught course will open on February 1, 2012 (for the mobility staring earliest on Sept 1, 2012). More info on the dates for other cycles of application will be announced on the main web later.

There are a total of seven(7) European university taking part in this program, namely
